On Friday 21 st June all the children in Year 4 took part in Spanish Day. There did three different
activities throughout the day:
Spanish fruit tasting
Name banners in the style of Gaudi
Self portraits in the style of Pablo Picasso
It was lovely to see so many children in Spanish outfits which really added to the atmosphere we
they danced the macarena in the afternoon. Why not ask them what they thought about the tast of olives!
The Cardboard Orchestra
The Cardboard Orchestra have invited Year 4 to take part in their project this year. During our first week back we have learnt a lot about the four different groups in an orchestra; strings, brass, percussion and woodwind. Each child has chosen an instrument to make for our performance on Wednesday 12th June. Here are some photos of the whole day the children spent making their instruments.
On Tuesday 23rd April, year 4 had a Harry Potter day. Some of the children dressed up as characters from the book, and took part in a range of activities to hook them into our new topic. The children were allocated a house e.g. Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor and asked to create a shield and write a description about their house. In the afternoon, each child made their own wand and drew a chalk image of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. It was a magical day!
