Key Stage 2 Standardised Assessment.

Key Stage 2 (KS2) SATs are national curriculum assessments taken by children in Year 6 (aged 10-11) in England at the end of the Key Stage 2 period. These tests aim to measure pupils' attainment in relation to the standards set out in the national curriculum.

Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of Key Stage 2 SATs:

Subjects Tested:

    • English grammar, punctuation and spelling: This consists of two papers:

    • English reading: One paper that involves reading a booklet containing three different genres of text and answering comprehension questions.
  • Mathematics: This consists of three papers:
    • Paper 1: arithmetic, focusing on calculation skills.
    • Paper 2: reasoning, requiring children to apply their mathematical knowledge to solve problems.
